Bio

Drummer/Vocalist Lee Piatelli hails from the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. Lee started his musical journey at the age of 6, surrounded by a musical family. Their yearly Christmas album recordings gave Lee an early start in the studio, and he began playing drums professionally at the age of 15. Since then drumming has been and continues to be his passion and purpose in life. He currently gigs throughout California with several artists including Liz Wiegard, Mick Sweda, and Atlantic Crossing, one of the nation’s top Rod Stewart tribute bands.  

 

Lee has experience with auxiliary and orchestral percussion and has performed on several occasions with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New Bedford Wind Ensemble, and the Long Beach Chamber Orchestra. Most recently  he's recorded at Capitol Records with the Lyra Chamber Orchestra.

 

In December of 2016 Lee graduated from The Musicians Institute with a degree in Music Performance after having studied with Jeff Bowders (Paul Gilbert), David Salinas (Kenny loggins, Don Felder) and Fred Dinkins (The Emotions, Denice William). Currently Lee is studying under Sean Winchester (Buckcherry, Josh Todd and the Conflict). Aside from performing, Lee has been teaching privately for 5 years and enjoys teaching students how to harness their passion. Lee also has 3 years of drum tech experience, including working with Kelly King (King Leg). He recently completed an American tour with Emiko, performing across 19 states on her "I Believe You" tour. Whilst on tour they fronted song writing clinics at Sam Ash locations nation wide.

 

Lee is available for sessions, tours, tech work, and sub gigs of all fashions. He is currently endorsed by WFL III Drums, Big Fat Snare Drum, Natural Acoustics Lab Shakers, and Grombal Cymbal Sleeves.
